The Bears open their 2015 Big Sky Conference play this weekend at home
GREELEYÂ - Northern Colorado Soccer opens their 2015 Big Sky Conference schedule this weekend for a Sunday, Sept. 27th, 1:00 PM game against the Montana Grizzlies. This the first time the Bears have kicked off conference play at home since the 2012 season.
Following two losses on the road in Omaha, Nebraska last weekend, [3-0 vs Creighton and 1-0 vs Nebraska Omaha] the UNC squad now turns to Big Sky play to finish out the second half of the season.
The Bears have met Montana ten times prior to this coming Sunday, starting in 2006 when the team joined the Big Sky Conference. The series between the two schools currently stands at 5-4-1. UNC lost their last meeting with the Grizzlies in Missoula, Montana, 1-0, but defeated them handily in 2013 at home, 4-0.
UNC finished 2014 with a 5-4-1 Big Sky record, ending the season after losing 2-1 in double-overtime to Idaho State in the first round of the conference tournament.
The Bears look to not only reach the Big Sky Conference tournament for the sixth time under head coach Tim Barrera, but also host for the second time since joining the conference in 2006.
Next weekend, Northern Colorado remains at home for a two-game weekend against Idaho State [Oct. 2 at 7:00 PM] and Weber State [Oct. 4 at 1:00 PM].
