GREELEY, Colo. -The Northern Colorado wrestling team will head to the Air Force Academy tomorrow to take on the always talented in-state rival. The Bears look to extend their winning streak to four dual matches in a row, while also giving the Falcons their third home loss of the year.
Â
"We are looking forward to continuing this roll we are on with in-state rival Air Force," said head coach Troy Nickerson. "They have a very tough team that is in great shape. We will need to perform at our absolute best to win. Our guys are up for the challenge and are wrestling very well as we come down to the end of the season. There are also a few very big matchups that we are looking forward to in order to solidify seeding for the conference tournament. Trey Andrews will wrestle a Top 15 opponent in Josh Martinez who is always solid, and Mitchell Polkowske will look to get revenge on Jesse Safford who has beaten him twice this year."
Â
The Falcons are coming off a home loss to Oregon State, a match they dropped 36-3. AF comes into the match with a 1-5 dual record on the year with their only win coming against Cal Poly by a score of 20-19.
Â
The match will take place at the Air Force Academy on Feb. 18 with wrestling starting at 7:00 p.m.
