Serrano Falls in Sudden Victory Match on Day Two of NCAA Championships

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ninth seeded Dominck Serrano returned to the mat for day two of the NCAA Wrestling Championships, battling through another round of intense competition inside Rocket Arena.
Serrano faced off against 10th seeded Maximilian Leete from American in a tightly contested match up that came down to the wire, with neither side able to create much separation through regulation. Strong defense and strategic positioning highlighted the bout, as both wrestlers traded control in a physical, grind-it-out contest.
With the score knotted at 1-1 at the end of regulation, the match moved into sudden victory. In the extra period, Serrano fought to gain the upper hand, but ultimately came up just short, surrendering a take down to fall to a 4-1 decision sudden victory loss.
Despite the result, the Bears showed resilience and determination on the national stage, competing with grit against top talent in the country.
