The UNC Bears travel up to Grand Forks, N.D. to fight for the Big Sky Tournament #2 seed
GREELEY, Colo. - UNC (11-7-1, 6-2-1 Big Sky) women's soccer finishes out their 2015 regular season this Friday when they travel up to Grand Forks, N.D. to face North Dakota (4-11-2, 2-6-1 Big Sky) at 2:00PM MT.
The Bears are currently 7-0-0 in their all-time series with North Dakota, including a 6-0 win (2014) and 3-0 win (2012) in Greeley. Their last meeting in Grand Forks in 2013 resulted in a much closer match, but the Bears prevailed 2-1.
Eleven wins in a season overall is the highest number of wins the Bear squad has accrued since the 2001 and 2002 seasons, when they finished 15-7-0 (8-1 in NCC) and 13-5-1 (6-2 in NCC), respectively. Both seasons, the final two that UNC was considered a Division II program, resulted in NCAA Division II Tournament berths.

Next week, the Bears will travel up to Moscow, Idaho for the 2015 Big Sky Championship Tournament. Idaho has clinched the #1 seed, earning the right to host the tournament, but the remaining six seeds will be decided following the completion of Friday's regular season close-out games.
UNC will finish out the season with the #2 or #3 seed. If the Bears finished third, they'll face the #6 seed next Thursday (Nov. 5) in the first round of the tournament. Earning the #2 seed will grant the team a bye next Thursday (Nov. 5) on the first day of the tournament, putting them directly through to Friday to face the winner of the #3 vs #6 match.
