Football's Courtney Hall Named Big Sky's ROOT Sports Defensive Player of the Week

CB Courtney Hall earns Big Sky Honors for the first time in his career at UNC.
OGDEN, Utah. - The Big Sky Conference has selected the ROOT SPORTS football Players of the Week for games played on Saturday, Sept. 6. Eastern Washington quarterback Vernon Adams is the Offensive Player of the Week. Northern Colorado cornerback Courtney Hall is the Defensive Player of the Week. North Dakota's Spencer Cummings is the Special Teams Player of the Week.
Hall, a 5-8, 168-pound senior from Pompano Beach, Fla, recorded four tackles and intercepted two passes in Northern Colorado's 13-12 loss to UNLV of the Mountain West Conference. Hall intercepted a UNLV pass in the first half, and nearly made game-winning interception late in the game when he stepped in front of a pass in the end zone with less than 10 seconds to play. Hall advanced the ball to the 15-yard line before he was tripped up. Hall helped the Northern Colorado defense hold UNLV to just 121 passing yards. The Bears picked off three passes. This is Hall's first career Player of the Week honor.Â
