PRE-GAME:
 Northern Colorado will be honoring former student-athlete and long-time contributor Vic Nottingham before the game with a special tribute and a moment of silence. Recognition will begin at 1:20 p.m.
GAME TIME:
The Northern Colorado football team (0-1, 0-0 Big Sky) comes back to Nottingham field for a quick homestand after a heartbreaking, 13-12 loss to FBS opponent UNLV last Saturday. The Bears look to rebound against Houston Baptist (0-1, 0-0 Southland) who is also coming off a loss. Kickoff against the Huskies is set for 1:30 p.m.
LAST GAME:
The Bears (0-1) proved they are not the same team that only won a single contest just one season ago. The defense displayed a strong performance, racking up four interceptions, three sacks, and one safety in the 13-12 loss, to UNLV (1-1) on Saturday night. UNC's Sean Rubalcaba ended the night 16 of 21 for 189 yards passing and one interception. RB's Robert Holland and Darius Graham controlled the ground game, combining for 115 yards rushing and a touchdown. Wide-out Dimitri Stimphil raked in a 117 yards receiving on 7 receptions.
The Bears defense held the Rebels to 121 yards passing tonight, but gave up 211 on the ground in the one point loss.Â
HBU:Â
 McMurry wide receiver Jeret Smith caught six passes for 123 yards with two receiving touchdowns and one rushing touchdown as the Warhawks held off HBU, 26-17, in the Huskies first official game and home opener at Husky Stadium Saturday night.
