GAME TIME:
The Northern Colorado football team (1-1, 0-0 Big Sky) heads to Cedar Falls, Iowa to square off against #11 Northern Iowa (0-2, 0-0 Missouri Valley) Saturday, Sept. 20 at 3:00 p.m. (MT). The Bears snapped a six-game home losing streak last Saturday after a, 28-20 comeback victory against Houston Baptist.
LAST GAME:
Northern Colorado favored the run on Saturday, calling on the ground attack for 50 plays in the game. Running backs Robert Holland and Darius Graham didn't disappoint, combining for a 142 yards rushing and two touchdowns in the eight-point win.
Senior wide receiver, Dimitri Stimphil continued to be the go to guy in the passing game. Stimphil found pay dirt for the first time in 2014 on a 50-yard pass from sophomore quarterback, Sean Rubalcaba, ending his day with 61 yards receiving on three receptions.
Rubalcaba finished 11 for 17 for 178 yards and a touchdown. He also added 30 yards on the ground and a rushing touchdown to his résumé.
For the second game in a row, the Bears' defense recorded 4 INTs. They now have 8 interceptions on the year, ranking 1st in Pass Defense and Interceptions in the Big Sky Conference.Â

The University of Northern Iowa football team fell to the University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors, 27-24 in the Aloha Stadium late Saturday night.
UNI scored a late fourth quarter touchdown after Darrian Miller found the end zone off an 11-yard pass from Sawyer Kollmorgen to cut the Hawai'i lead to 27-24, but the Panthers were unable to close the gap and fell to the Rainbow Warriors.
Kollmorgen finished 19-40-0 for 265 yards and two touchdowns. David Johnson led the Panthers through the air with 73 yards off five receptions, adding 46 yards on the ground. Max Busher led the team with nine tackles while Jake Farley and Ronelle McNeil both grabbed eight.
