Terrance Grant joined the University of Northern Colorado football staff in 2024 and is entering his second season as the UNC Bears' Running Backs coach in 2025. Grant has experience in NCAA Division I as a student-athlete, coach, and recruiter.
Before UNC, Coach Grant spent the 2022-2023 seasons at 6A High School Moe and Gene Johnson in Buda, Texas. Serving as the wide receiver coach.
Grant spent three seasons on the Utah Tech University coaching staff from 2019 to 2021. In his first season as receivers coach, the Trailblazer receiving corps combined to rack up over 2,500 yards. Receiver Devon Osborne Was named to the 30th Anniversary 2021 AFCA Allstate Good Works Team. Â And tied for eighth on UT NCAA-era career 100-yard receiving list. In 2019, Grant served as a defensive quality control coach and assisted in coaching the safeties. The secondary played a crucial role in the defense's success, as Alex Lilliard earned second-team All-Conference honors. Additionally, Darrius Nash led the team with 73 tackles and added 4.5 tackles for loss and two interceptions.
While at Utah Tech, Grant was also the Multicultural Inclusion Center Coordinator/BSU Advisor. Â He served as lead coordinator for African American/Black students on campus, providing social and transitional programming that connected students to various resources on campus for minority students.
Grant came to Utah Tech University after spending over a decade as a wide receivers coach, passing coordinator, and strength & conditioning coach at Various High Schools in California. He has contributed to an Under Armour All-American, Division 1 student-athletes, and players holding current NFL roster spots. In addition to coaching, Grant privately trained high school and collegiate athletes in multiple sports.
As a collegiate player, Grant was the leading receiver at Fresno City College in 2003, where he earned All-Conference honors and led the Rams to a Producers Dairy Bowl. Later, he played at San Jose State (2004-06) under head coaches Fitz Hill and Dick Tomey. Knee surgery prevented Grant from playing his senior season but inspired him to transition into coaching and performance training.Â
2017, he graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree in sports management, wellness, and fitness.
Coach is pursuing a Master's degree in Sports and Exercise Science with a concentration in Sports Administration at the University of Northern Colorado.
Terrance and his wife, Shareena, are the proud parents of three children: Terrance Jr., Tiana, and Trenton.Â
