Daryl Moe came to the UNC staff as an assistant coach with experience on both sides of the ball in January of 2020.He began as the team's Linebacker Coach and Run Game Coordinator before moving into the role of Special Teams Coordinator in the spring of 2021. He continues to work with the inside linebackers as well.
The kicking game was big for Northern Colorado in 2021 with both punter Devin Bale and kicker Ben Raybon setting program records. Bale had the longest punt in program history when he sent the ball 84 yards against Sacramento State. He went on to rank 27th in the nation averaging 41.2 yards per punt. Meanwhile Raybon connected on a 57-yard field goal against Lamar to set the program record for longest field goal.Â
Under Moe's guidance inside linebacker Jace Bobo earned All-Big Sky honorable mention honors in 2021. He led the team with 87 tackles and three interceptions.Â
Moe spent the three seasons before coming to UNC coaching at Wilsonville High School in Wilsonville, Oregon as the quarterbacks coach in 2017 and the defensive coordinator in 2018 and 2019. Â
Prior to moving to Oregon, he spent seventeen years working throughout Colorado high schools on the gridiron. He was the head coach at Lutheran High School (2010 – 2013) and Academy Charter High School (2001), offensive coordinator at Chaparral High School (2014-2016) and Regis Jesuit High School (2002-2004; 2007-2009) and as assistant coach at Littleton High School (1997–2000) and offensive coordinator during his time coaching at the high school level, Moe has coached an Oregon Gatorade Player of the Year, a Steinmark Award Winner and over 80 players went on to play college football.
Moe has college coaching experience as the offensive line coach at Tabor College (1996) and the offensive coordinator at Adams State College (2005-2006).
Moe is joined in Greeley by his wife Amy Beth, sons Conlan, Brady and Aidan and daughter Emerson.
