Played in all 35 matches and 128 of 129 sets in her sophomore campaign, earning a spot on the Big Sky All-Conference Second Team for the first time in her career ... Led the team with 123 total blocks (0.96/set) and 114 block assists ... Those 123 total blocks was best in Northern Colorado' single-season Division I history, while her 114 block assists is good for second best in Bears' Division I single-season history ... Wasn't just a threat blocking though, finishing third on the team with 336 kills (2.62/set) while still keeping an amazingly efficient .330 hitting percentage ... That percentage was good for fourth highest in the Big Sky ... Also finished second on the team with 31 service aces ... Finished second on the team with 205 kills (2.81/set) in Big Sky play while hitting .324 ... Tallied 76 total blocks in conference competition ... Flirted with a triple-double in the Bears' season-opening win over TCU, recording eight kills, eight digs and five blocks ... Recorded at least five blocks in 11 of 35 matches ... Recorded four blocks in four straight matches in early November ... Tallied double-digit kills in 15 matches on the year, including 10 of 20 Big Sky contests ... In seven of those double-digit kill efforts, recorded a hitting percentage of at least .400 ... It did not take long for Spaustat to break out onto the scene on the campus of Northern Colorado – being named the Big Sky’s Freshman of the Year as well as a member of the Big Sky All-Conference First Team ... One of the most impressive things about Spaustat’s outstanding first year was the accuracy with which she attacked ... Her .343 hitting percentage was tops in the Big Sky and good for 56th best in the nation ... And it wasn’t like the freshman was just making good on a limited number of opportunities -- she was the only freshman to finish in the top-10 in the Big Sky in Kills/Set (2.64) ... Spaustat played in all but four of the Bears' games and started in 29 of a possible 31 matches ... The freshman also displayed brilliant defensive talents to go along with her offensive dominance ... She led the Bears 98 total blocks ... Northern Colorado supporters didn’t have to wait long to witness what Spaustat is capable of, as the Bears’ second game of the season served as Spaustat’s coming-out party ... The freshman came up with 14 kills on .423 hitting while posting 18.5 total points in a close loss to UC Davis ... On Oct. 22 in a road match against Big Sky foe Montana, Spaustat came through huge with a career-high 19 kills on .452 hitting.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a four-year varsity starter and team captain for coach Rochelle Rholfs at Marian High ... Earned Nebraska Class A Second Team All-State honors from the Associated Press her senior year for the Crusaders after earning all-state honorable mention in 2008 ... Was the second-most efficient hitter in the state of Nebraska in 2009 ... Made quite a name for herself on the national club scene with the River City Juniors, which finished in the national top 10 at the USA Girls Junior National Championships three times (2008, 2009, 2010) during Spaustat's career ... Spaustat was named to the club National All-Tournament Team in 2009 and 2010 ... Also selected for the US Junior Olympic Team's D1 camp in 2007 and then the A2 camp in 2008 ... In May 2011, Spaustat was honored with the Girl Scouts of America Gold Award, the highest honor Senior Scouts or Ambassadors can achieve ... Only six percent of all Girl Scouts in 2011 received the honor ... Is a recipient of the Bronze (74 hours), Silver (99) and Gold (100 plus) President's Volunteer Service Awards ...
