Bears Wrap Up Regular Season Campaign At Air Force Twilight Open

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Northern Colorado Track and Field combined for a strong showing at the Air Force Twilight Open, highlighted by multiple event wins, podium finishes, and depth performances at altitude.
On the women's side, Northern Colorado dominated the hurdles, sweeping the top three spots in the 100-meter hurdles. Alexia Austin led the way with a winning time of 13.41, breaking her own record, followed by Donice Ezealah (14.25) and Sherika Thomas (14.77).
Monique Stewart captured the 400-meter title in 55.17, while Caydence Brewer added a third-place finish in the event (56.86) and took second in the 200 meters (24.53).
In the field events, Kiana Van Haaren earned a victory in the long jump with a mark of 6.15 meters (20-2.25). Sally Gould placed fourth in the same event (5.52m) and competed in the 200 meters.
The Bears added a pair of podium finishes in the triple jump, led by Tamia John in second (11.65m) and Savanna Amack in third (11.20m).
Additional highlights included a fifth-place finish in the 100 meters from Camaria Corder (12.34) and a third place showing in the 400 hurdles by Vanessa Ward (1:02.59). In the distance events, Claire Nowels and Jessica Wilson placed fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 3000 meters.
In the high jump, April Necaise and Ciara Piffarerio each cleared 1.60 meters to finish fourth and sixth. Gwen Seelye added a ninth-place finish in the javelin (33.45m).
On the men's side, the Bears showed depth in the 100 meters, placing four athletes in the top 10. Tyler Rogers led the group with a third-place finish in 10.59, followed by Jaymison Whicmann in fifth (10.79) and Johnny Fisher in seventh (10.86). Maxwell Streufert also competed, placing 10th (11.24).
NEXT UP: Northern Colorado's all-around performance showcased strength across sprints, hurdles, jumps, and distance events as the Bears look ahead to the Conference tournament.
