Rembert, Pollyea Power Into Top 10 After Day One at Big Sky Decathlon

GRESHAM, Ore. – Northern Colorado Track and Field opened competition at the 2026 Big Sky Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a solid start in the men's decathlon, as Jameson Rembert and Ryan Pollyea positioned themselves inside the top 10 after five events at Mt. Hood Community College.
Rembert sits ninth overall with 2,896 points, highlighted by a strong shot-put performance where he finished second in the field at 11.94 meters (603 points). Rembert also contributed a ninth-place finish in the 100 meters (12.15, 622 pts) and maintained consistency through the opening day to remain firmly in the top 10 entering day two.
Pollyea follows in 10th with 2,795 points after a steady opening slate across all five events. He delivered one of his strongest marks in the 100 meters, finishing third in his section with a time of 11.14 (830 pts), and added a key long jump performance of 6.48 meters (693 pts). Pollyea also posted scoring marks in the shot put (10.53m, 518 pts) and 400 meters (51.33, 754 pts) to stay within striking distance of the field.
Rembert and Pollyea both contributed in the high jump, clearing 1.79 meters and 1.79 meters respectively, before closing Day 1 in the 400 meters where Pollyea ran 51.33 and Rembert finished 55.35.
NEXT UP: The decathlon picks back up on day two with the 110-meter hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin, and 1500 meters as the Bears look to climb the standings in the Big Sky Championship field.
