GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado baseball used a dominant middle-inning surge to defeat Omaha, 11-7, on Friday afternoon at Jackson Field. The win extends the Bears winning streak to three games.

Trailing 5-3 heading into the bottom of the sixth, Northern Colorado delivered its most explosive inning of the game, plating eight runs on seven hits to take full control of the game. The Bears finished with 17 hits on the day.

Multiple Bears turned in standout performances at the plate, led by Sam Pease, who went 3-for-5 with a home run, double and three RBI's. Mason Griffin added a huge day as well, collecting three hits, including a triple, and driving in three runs. Brandon Sanchez and Logan Pruski each recorded three hits, with Sanchez adding two RBI's and Pruski contributing another.

Northern Colorado answered early adversity after Omaha jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. The Bears chipped away with runs in the first, second and fifth innings before breaking the game open in the sixth.

The decisive sixth inning saw contributions throughout the lineup. Griffin's RBI triple jump started the rally, followed by extra-base hits from Pease and Ethan Mooser. The Bears continued to apply pressure with timely singles, walks and situational hitting, batting around and turning a two-run deficit into a six-run advantage.

On the mound, Reece Wagner earned the win after tossing 6.2 innings, striking out six while limiting Omaha to five runs. Logan Borboa came on in relief to secure the final four outs and earn the save.

ON DECK: With the win, Northern Colorado builds momentum with three straight wins and will look to continue its hot streak in game two of the series. First pitch is set for 12 p.m. MDT at Jackson Field.
