Brewer, Austin and Pollyea Lead Bears Across Two Meets

BOULDER, Colo. — Northern Colorado turned in a strong weekend across the Jerry Quiller Classic and Stanford Invitational, highlighted by event wins, all-time marks and multiple podium finishes.
At Stanford, Monique Stewart posted a standout performance in the 800m, finishing second in 2:08.12 to move to No. 3 all-time at UNC, while Regina Mpigachai added a pair of strong finishes, placing seventh in the 800m (2:09.36) and 12th in the 1500m (4:20.19).
Back in Boulder, the Bears saw success across multiple event groups, led by Ryan Pollyea, who won the long jump (6.93m) and added a seventh-place finish in the javelin. Camaria Corder (2nd, long jump) and Savanna Amack (3rd, triple jump) led the women's field events, while April Necaise added a third-place finish in the high jump.
On the track, Caydence Brewer captured the 200m title in 24.53 (No. 6 all-time at UNC) and placed fourth in the 100m, while Alexia Austin won the 100m hurdles (13.76) and finished fifth in the 100m. The men's sprint group was paced by Johnny Fisher (4th, 200m), Edgar Garcia (4th, 400m) and Jaydon Sundbye (5th, 100m), while Rayvon Walkin led the hurdles with a runner-up finish in the 110m hurdles.
Northern Colorado also saw strong relay performances, with the women's 4x100 team winning the event and both men's 4x400 squads placing second and fourth, capping a well-rounded weekend for the Bears.
