Bears Reset Records, Post Strong Showing at Mines Midweek Meet & Multi

GOLDEN, Colo. – Northern Colorado track & field continued its impressive outdoor campaign at the Mines Midweek Meet & Multi, highlighted by a pair of record-breaking performances as Tyler Rogers and Camaria Corder each reset their own program records.
Rogers led the way on the men's side, winning the long jump with a leap of 7.67m (25-2.00), improving upon the school record he set earlier this season to remain No. 1 all-time at Northern Colorado. The Bears also saw a strong finish on the track from Christopher Cheatham, who placed third in the 400m with a time of 48.09.
In the triple jump, Kaliff Guevara delivered a standout performance with a mark of 15.03m (49-3.75), finishing second and moving up to No. 7 all-time in program history. Northern Colorado added depth in the sprints, with Max Streufert (11.03), Kyran Jones (11.07) and Nick Ellis (11.21) placing inside the top 11 of the 100m, while Jared Jenson finished sixth in the 200m (22.25).
The Bears also competed in the decathlon, where Jameson Rembert (2916 points) and Ryan Pollyea (2692) sit ninth and 11th, respectively, through five events.
On the women's side, Corder matched Rogers' effort with a record-breaking performance of her own in the triple jump. She won the event with a leap of 13.09m (42-11.5), surpassing her previous school record set earlier this season to remain atop the UNC all-time list.
Kiana Van Haaren added another event win for the Bears, taking first in the long jump with a mark of 6.10m (20-0.25). On the track, Caydence Brewer turned in a strong third-place finish in the 400m (56.70), while Marely Del Campo led UNC in the 100m with a fifth-place time of 12.68.
Kayla Christiansen placed eighth in the 200m (28.19), and Vanessa Ward added a top-10 finish in the 400m hurdles (1:06.59). In the triple jump, Savanna Amack finished third (11.19m) and Tamia John placed sixth (10.87m), while also competing in the long jump (5.30m, ninth).
In the javelin, Gwen Seelye led the Bears with a seventh-place throw of 36.00m (118-1), followed by April Necaise in 13th (28.58m).
UP NEXT: Northern Colorado returns to Golden this week for a pair of meets hosted at Stermole Track & Field Complex. The Bears will compete in the Mines Midweek Meet & Multi on Thursday, April 9, followed by the Kit Mayer Classic on Saturday, April 11.
