GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado softball closed out the regular season in thrilling fashion, rallying past Weber State for an 8-7 victory to secure the series sweep at Gloria Rodriguez Field on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Bears not only completed the sweep of the Wildcats but also capped their home slate with an 11-10 record at Gloria Rodriguez Field.

Weber State jumped out to an early lead, plating two runs in the first and adding five more in the second to take a 7-1 advantage. Northern Colorado responded with resilience, beginning its comeback in the third inning when Amailee Morales launched a three-run home run to cut into the deficit.

The Bears continued to chip away, scoring four runs in the third before tying the game in the fourth behind a two-RBI double from Ella Gonzales. In the fifth inning, Jazzy Longo delivered the decisive moment, blasting a solo home run to give Northern Colorado its first lead of the game at 8-7.

Anna Wilming turned in a dominant relief performance, tossing five shutout innings to earn the win and shut down the Wildcats the rest of the way.

At the plate, the Bears were powered by Morales' three RBI's, while Gonzales went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI's. Northern Colorado totaled 11 hits in the contest, matching Weber State's output but delivering the timely swings needed to complete the comeback.

The victory marks a strong finish to the regular season for the Bears, who carry momentum into postseason play after defending their home field and securing the series sweep.

ON DECK: The Bears now turn their attention to the conference tournament, set to take place in Pocatello, Idaho at Miller Ranch Stadium. Action begins Monday, May 4, and runs through Thursday, May 7.
