Northern Colorado Baseball Evens Series with 19–2 Win Over SDSU

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Northern Colorado baseball unleashed a dominant offensive performance on Saturday, rolling past South Dakota State 19-2 to even the series on the road.
The Bears came out swinging, erupting for eight runs in the first inning to immediately take control. Ethan Sanchez set the tone at the top of the lineup, finishing 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI's, while Brandon Sanchez delivered a huge day at the plate, going 3-for-5 with four RBI's, highlighted by a two-run double in the opening frame.
Northern Colorado didn't let up, putting together its biggest inning of the day in the fourth. The Bears sent 15 hitters to the plate and scored 10 runs, capitalizing on free passes and timely hitting. Wilson Kieffer came through with a two-RBI single, and Sam Pease added a pair of RBI's as part of a four-time-on-base performance that included three hits and three runs scored.
In total, UNC piled up 19 runs on 15 hits while drawing nine walks, showcasing patience and power throughout the lineup. Mason Griffin contributed a 2-for-3 effort with two RBI's and two runs scored, and Ethan Mooser drove in three runs to further fuel the offensive outburst.
On the mound, Jake Storey earned the win, going four innings and allowing two runs on four hits while striking out four. Jax Pfister followed with two scoreless innings, and Mac Hibben closed things out with a clean seventh to secure the victory.
