PREVIEW: Bears Baseball Heads to St. Thomas for Four Game Conference Series

GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado baseball is back on the road this week for a four-game conference series at St. Thomas, with an additional make-up game from earlier in the season also scheduled.
Friday, April 17 features a doubleheader, with Game 1 set for 11 a.m. MDT. The series continues Saturday and Sunday with one game each day.

LASTIME OUT: Northern Colorado baseball won its series against North Dakota State, taking two of three at Jackson Field after a 4–3 opening loss. UNC jumped out early in Game 1 behind Logan Pruski and a strong start from Reece Wagner, but NDSU rallied late with three solo home runs to edge the Bears. UNC responded with an 11–10, 10-inning walk-off win in Game two, powered by a 18-hit attack and key performances from Jake Bullard, Brandon Sanchez, and Sam Pease, with Brady Hudson closing it out. The Bears then secured the series with a 10–5 win in Game three, erupting for six runs in the second inning and getting a four-hit day from Wilson Kieffer and a three-run homer from Sanchez.
NOTES ABOUT THE BEARS: Offensively, UNC is hitting .276 as a team with 338 hits and 197 runs across 37 games. The lineup is led by Jaden Stone (.343), Logan Pruski (.336), and Mason Griffin (.279), who have provided steady production throughout the season. Stone was also recently named Peak Performer of the Week following his standout performance against NDSU, highlighting his impact at the top of the lineup. Zeke Minic and Sam Pease have added additional depth with timely hitting and extra-base production. Defensively, UNC holds a .965 fielding percentage.

St. Thomas is hitting .259 as a team with 131 RBI and 16 home runs, led by Owen Bond (.337), Tanner Recchio (.286), Matthew Maulik (.278), Chris Knowles (.277), and Joe Roder (.264) as key offensive contributors. Defensively, UST holds a .962 fielding percentage with 24 double plays but has been hampered by 38 errors and 13 passed balls.
