GREELEY, Colo. - Northern Colorado dropped its series finale to South Dakota State on Sunday afternoon at Jackson Field.

The Jackrabbits jumped out early and never looked back, plating runs in each of the first four innings to build a sizable lead. South Dakota State added another surge late to put the game out of reach. Offensively, the Bears were limited to three hits on the day but found a spark in the fifth inning. Mason Griffin drove in both runs with a two-RBI performance.

Logan Pruski added a hit and scored a run, finishing 1-for-2 with a double and a walk. Sam Pease also contributed at the plate with a base hit, accounting for the Bears third knock of the game. Despite drawing five walks and finding some traffic on the bases, Northern Colorado was unable to capitalize against the Jackrabbits pitching.

On the mound, the Bears utilized multiple arms, with Lucas Stone getting the start. The Jackrabbits capitalized on early opportunities and continued to apply pressure throughout the game.

ON DECK: Northern Colorado will look to bounce back when the Bears travel to Colorado Springs to take on Air Force for a midweek match up. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. MDT at Erdle Field.
