GREELEY, Colo. – The University of Northern Colorado swim and dive team heads to Texas this week for the 2026 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Swimming & Diving Championships, set for Wednesday-Saturday, February 25-28.
The 16th-annual MPSF Championships will be hosted by the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley at the City of Pharr-PSJA Natatorium in Pharr, Texas. The four-day meet will feature preliminary sessions each morning and finals each evening, culminating in the crowning of team champions Saturday night.
A year ago, Pacific (men) and Pepperdine (women) each captured their first MPSF team titles in 2025, adding another chapter to a conference that continues to grow in depth and competitiveness.
Northern Colorado enters the championship with momentum across both swimming and diving. The Bears are seeded first in the 800-yard freestyle relay (7:21.39), second in the 200-yard medley relay (1:40.80) and first in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:31.87), positioning UNC to score early and often in the relay events.
Individually, senior Maria Erokhina headlines the meet for the Bears as the top seed in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.47), while junior Kyra Rabess is seeded second in the 500 freestyle and third in the 200 freestyle, giving UNC strong scoring opportunities in distance events. Martina Yuki Trionfetti sits second in the 50 freestyle, and Ellyson Lombardi leads the field entering the 100 butterfly.
On the boards, Northern Colorado will rely on depth from Mireya Ruiz, Violet Noel and Addison Campbell as the Bears look to make key contributions in both one-meter and three-meter competition.
