GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado opened its season Friday with a 198-83 win over New Mexico State at the Butler-Hancock Pool.
The margin came from depth as much as speed. Northern Colorado went one-two-three in the 200 medley relay and placed multiple swimmers in the top three of nearly every race, and the Bears won 11 of 16 events on the night. This marks the eighth straight victory over New Mexico State in duel competition.
Two More Marks Fall
Avi Tromp made it a breaststroke sweep, taking the 100 in 1:04.32 and then the 200 in 2:20.38, the latter a program record. Agathi Manoli added the 200 IM in 2:08.26 for a fourth record on the night.
