PHARR, Texas – Northern Colorado swimming and diving opened the 2026 MPSF Championships in record-breaking fashion on Wednesday night, capturing a program record in the 200 medley relay and rewriting the school standard in the 800 freestyle relay.
The night began with history in the women's 200 medley relay, where the quartet of Martina Yuki Trionfetti, Maria Erokhina, Ellyson Lombardi and Alexis Mishler touched first in 1:39.01, setting a new Northern Colorado program record and earning 64 team points.
The performance secured the Bears an event title to kick off the championship meet and set the tone for the evening.
Northern Colorado carried that momentum into the 800 freestyle relay, as Lora Konter, Trionfetti, Lombardi and Kyra Rabess combined for a 7:14.57 finish to place second overall. Their time established a new program record in the event, showcasing the Bears' depth and endurance in the distance events while adding another 56 points to the team total.
Competition continues tomorrow morning.
