Bears Finish Tied For Eighth After Strong Showing at Loyola Intercollegiate

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Northern Colorado men's golf closed out the Loyola Intercollegiate on Tuesday, finishing at 10-under par as a team and earning a tie for eighth place in the 21-team field.

Thomas Barnes Grimes closed out an outstanding week for the Bears, placing tied for 10th at 9-under par to record a top 10 individual finish and lead Northern Colorado on the leader board. Kaelen Dulany followed with a strong three-round showing of his own, finishing 16th at 7-under par to earn a top 20 finish.

Cooper Tate finished the tournament tied for 38th at 1-under par, continuing a steady performance throughout the week in the Bears lineup. Talan Gover and Rowan MacDonald each closed the event tied for 102nd at 10-over par, rounding out the team's scoring in the final round.

Competing as an individual, Lucas Raoul finished the tournament at 24-over par.

Behind a pair of top 20 individual finishes and a balanced team effort, Northern Colorado climbed four spots during the second round and secured a top eight team finish to close out the Loyola Intercollegiate.

UP NEXT: The Bears will shift their focus and begin preparation for the Golden Nugget Invitational, hosted by Lamar at The Golden Nugget Country Club.
