Bears Post 12-Under Through Two Rounds at Golden Nugget Invitational

LAKE CHARLES, LA – Northern Colorado men's golf completed the first two rounds at the Golden Nugget Invitational with a strong showing, sitting seventh out of 11 teams at 12-under-par on the team leader board.
Northern Colorado was led by a standout showing from Thomas Barnes Grimes, who is tied for 13th at 5-under through 36 holes. He carried over the strong form he displayed at the Loyola Intercollegiate, firing a 5-under 67 in the second round. Just behind him, Cooper Tate and Kaelen Dulany each posted 3-under totals and are tied for 21st, giving the Bears three players inside the top 25 heading into the final round.
Matias Koropeski added to the balanced team effort with a 1-under-par performance, placing tied for 30th and keeping Northern Colorado firmly in contention.
Rounding out the team scoring, Tommie Clark finished the first two rounds at 8-over-par and sits tied for 63rd overall.
Competing as an individual, Rowan MacDonald posted a solid 6-over-par total and currently stands 60th on the individual leader board.
With multiple players positioned near the top of the field, Northern Colorado will look to carry its momentum into the final round as they aim to climb further up the leader board at the Golden Nugget.
