Bears Ready for Two on Sunday in Series Finale After Dropping Game Two

Wichita State scored in five different innings and finished the afternoon with 14 runs on 11 hits, including three doubles and two home runs. The Shockers were efficient with runners on base, going 7-for-12 with runners in scoring position and adding five stolen bases.
Northern Colorado's lone run came on a two-out RBI by Pruski, accounting for the Bears only hit with runners in scoring position. UNC finished the game with two hits and went 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position.
On the mound, Reece Wagner earned the start for the Bears and was followed by Mitch Haythorn and Ethan Louthan in relief. Haythorn allowed two home runs during his outing, while Louthan closed out the final innings for Northern Colorado.
Defensively, the Bears turned a double play, and at the plate Griffin and Barber were each hit by a pitch as UNC worked to generate offense.
Wichita State starter Johnny Nuanez earned the win, throwing five scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and striking out five.
Northern Colorado will look to respond as the series concludes on Sunday.
UP NEXT: The Bears will wrap up the series with a Sunday doubleheader, looking to even the series. First pitch for game one is set for 10 a.m. MT.
