Bears finish Day One at Whirlwind Invitational

CHANDLER, Ariz. - Northern Colorado men's golf completed two rounds of play at the Whirlwind Invitational on Monday, finishing the day in 11th place with a team total of 599 at the demanding Whirlwind Golf Club (par 72, 7,334 yards).
Kaelen Dulany is off to a strong start to the 2025–26 season, leading the Bears with a two-round score of 138 (-6). He opened with an impressive five-under 67 and followed it up with a solid 71 in round two, placing him in a tie for 14th individually heading into Tuesday's final round.
Tommie Clark carded a two-over 74 in the first round and a one-over 73 in the second round.
Cooper Tate and Takato Imoto provided reliable performances for UNC. Tate shot a three-over 75 in round one and a one-over 73 in round two. Imoto recorded identical rounds of 74, placing him at four-over (148) and both tied for 58th overall.
Rounding out the team lineup was Lucas Raoul, who posted a four-over 76 in the first round and a three-over 75 in round two to sit in 65th place.
Competing individually, Rowan MacDonald turned in a two-over 74 in round one and an even-par 72 in round two. Thomas Barnes Grimes also played as an individual, carding a pair of 74s across both rounds.
Northern Colorado aims to finish strong in Tuesday's final round and make a push for a top-half result in the 10-team field.
