Northern Colorado Men’s Golf Sits Third After Day One at Big Sky Championship

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – Northern Colorado men's golf opened play at the Big Sky Conference Championship on Monday with a solid first-round performance, carding a team score of 293 (+5) to sit in third place after 18 holes at Wigwam Resort.
The Bears were paced by Cooper Tate, who led the lineup with an impressive round of 71 (-1), positioning himself in third place individually and giving Northern Colorado an early boost atop the leader board. Thomas Barnes-Grimes followed closely behind, turning in an even-par 72 to sit tied for fourth, while Kaelen Dulany added a 74 (+2), placing himself in a tie for 11th after day one.
Rounding out the scoring for the Bears, Tommie Clark and Matias Koropeski each posted rounds of 76 (+4), landing in a tie for 21st and helping Northern Colorado stay within striking distance of the tournament lead.
As a team, the Bears find themselves just three strokes back of the lead heading into the second round, firmly in contention as the tournament continues.
NEXT TEE: With strong positioning across the lineup, Northern Colorado will look to build momentum and climb the leader board in round two of the Tournament.
