Taryn Rea Earns Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week

Dominant on the Backline, Rea Secures Weekly Honors
GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado senior Taryn Rea has been named the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday, following two standout performances in the opening weekend of the 2025 season.
Rea was a key force on the Bears' back line, playing all 180 minutes across two road matches. She helped limit opponents to just one goal on the weekend, which came off a corner kick. Her leadership and composure were instrumental in securing a 1-1 draw and a 1-0 shutout victory over Oral Roberts.
In addition to her defensive work, Rea played a pivotal role in the attack—delivering a perfectly placed free kick that found Lexi Tuite for the game-winning header vs the Golden Eagles.
