Bears Battle Back to Earn 2-2 Draw at Idaho

MOSCOW, Idaho – Northern Colorado Soccer (3-9-6, 2-3-2 Big Sky) battled to a 2-2 draw on the road Friday night against Idaho (5-4-8, 2-1-4) inside the P1FCU Kibbie Dome.
The Bears came out strong, opening the scoring in the 13th minute when Lexi Tuite found the back of the net for her sixth goal of the season, assisted by Ava Marshall. Idaho responded with a pair of goals late in the first half; Annika Farley equalized in the 35th minute before Sara Rodgers gave the Vandals the lead just five minutes later.
Northern Colorado continued to press after halftime and was rewarded in the 82nd minute as Sunnie Yarnell converted her second goal of the year to tie the match.
Goalkeeper Kaya Lindberg turned in another steady performance in goal, recording four saves against 16 Idaho shots.
UNC tallied seven total shots, including five on target, while keeping the Vandals off the scoreboard in the second half.

The Bears will play their final regular season game in Cheney, Washington, to face Eastern Washington on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m. MDT (12 p.m. PDT).
