Strong Showing for Northern Colorado Track & Field Across the Board

Bears notch multiple event wins, top-three finishes, and all-time program marks in balanced weekend performance
GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado Track & Field turned in a productive showing over the weekend with a series of victories, personal bests, and all-time program marks across both the men's and women's teams.
Zander Cruzan led the way on the track for the Bears, capturing the 100m title in 10.66 and earning a runner-up finish in the 200m at 21.15—good for No. 7 on UNC's all-time list. He also anchored a 4x100m relay team featuring Edgar Garcia, Jerome Campbell, and Floyd Samuels Jr. that took second in 40.28.
Donovan Castillo recorded a big win in the 400m with a time of 47.33, while Jaydon Sundbye took first in the 110m hurdles (15.34) and second in the 400m hurdles (58.04). In the 800m, Dylan Wilson crossed the line in third at 1:55.41.
Kaliff Guevara won the triple jump with a mark of 46' 3.5" (14.11m), and Digby Marshall claimed second in the long jump at 21' 5.25" (6.53m). Jameson Rembert placed eighth in the discus (92' 7") and also contributed in the sprints.
The women's squad earned victories and top-three finishes of their own. Sherika Thomas claimed the 100m hurdles title in 14.51, while Jaelynn Lane secured a win in the triple jump with a leap of 37' 9.5" (11.52m). Alexa Oatman cleared 11' 5.75" (3.50m) to take top honors in the pole vault.
Kiana Van Haaren had a strong meet, placing fourth in the 100m (12.16) and second in the long jump (19' 6"). Gwen Seelye threw a personal-best 122' 0" (37.18m) in the javelin to finish fifth and move up to No. 5 on UNC's all-time list.
The women's 4x100m relay team of Marely Del Campo, Van Haaren, Vanessa Ward, and Taylor Hoodak clocked 47.04 to place third overall. Ward also placed seventh in the 400m hurdles (1:06.13) while Annison Pound took seventh in the 100m hurdles (16.06).
Additional top finishes for UNC included Garcia placing fourth in the 100m (10.87) and fifth in the 200m (21.64), while freshman Kyran Jones recorded two top-10 finishes in the 100m and 200m. On the women's side, Del Campo and Ward both placed in the top 10 in the 100m, contributing valuable depth in the sprints.
The Bears now shift focus to the Big Sky Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Sacramento State, next weekend.
