GREELEY, Colo. — The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Tuesday that four Northern Colorado women's basketball student-athletes have been named to the 2024-25 NCAA Division I Academic All-District Team. Silvia Nativi, Gabi Fields, Ella Van Weelden and April Rummery-Lamb were recognized for their combined excellence on the court and in the classroom.
The four Academic All-District selections are the most for the Bears in a single season and highlight UNC's continued commitment to student-athlete success in all facets of the collegiate experience.
Nativi played and started in all 31 games this season. A steady presence on both ends of the floor, she tallied a season-high 13 points twice—against Colorado (Nov. 7) and Northern Arizona (March 1)—and helped lift the Bears to an overtime win at BYU with 10 points and two assists. The Italy native logged a season-high 38 minutes against Weber State and dished out six assists versus North Dakota. She also pulled down a season-best six rebounds in the regular-season finale against Sacramento State.
Fields made her mark offensively, averaging 7.1 points and 2.9 assists per game while leading the team in minutes per contest. The junior guard played all 40 minutes in the road upset of Big 12 foe BYU, pouring in a season-high 17 points. She was a standout during the Big Sky-Summit Challenge, averaging 32 minutes over two games while recording 13 points, four steals, and nine assists combined. Fields capped her season with a sharp-shooting performance in the Big Sky Tournament, hitting all four of her three-point attempts.
Van Weelden emerged as a versatile contributor throughout the season, averaging 6.0 points, 2.9 rebounds and nearly an assist per game. She shot an efficient 66.7% from both the field and the arc in the win over BYU and posted 10 points in a dominant victory over Central Christian. Her best stretch came during the Big Sky-Summit Challenge, where she averaged 13 points, went 8-for-14 from beyond the arc and added five assists, nine rebounds and four steals. She played a season-high 34 minutes in the win against Eastern Washington on Jan. 25.
Rummery-Lamb provided key minutes off the bench, highlighted by a 12-point, six-rebound effort against Central Christian. She went 2-for-4 from the field in the Bears' overtime victory at BYU and followed that up with back-to-back double-digit scoring efforts in wins over Central Christian and Tabor. Defensively, she recorded a season-high three steals and added two points in the win over North Dakota and matched her season high with six boards against Central Christian.
