GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado women's basketball (5-1) continues its road stretch to Tucson, Arizona riding a wave of confidence after a perfect 2-0 weekend at the WellNow Blue Demon Classic. The Bears rallied for a gritty overtime victory against Campbell on Friday, then followed it up with a dramatic, last-second win over DePaul on Saturday night.
In both contests, Northern Colorado demonstrated impressive resilience. Despite falling behind early in each game, the Bears maintained poise and composure, using depth, balance, and veteran leadership to power their comebacks. Their strong start not only highlights the team's toughness but also marks Northern Colorado's best opening to a season since the 2016–17 campaign.
Gabi Fields and Tatum West were both named to the All-Tournament Team for their standout performances. West delivered a double-double against DePaul, posting 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Fields anchored the defense throughout the weekend. Her timely stops and high-energy play resulted in six steals across the two games, helping set the tone on both ends of the floor.
The Bears will now shift their focus to Big 12 opponent, Arizona and prepare for their matchup on Tuesday, November 25 at McKale Center.
With momentum building, the Bears head into their next game and keep their early-season success rolling.
