GREELEY, Colo. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has recognized the University of Northern Colorado's women's swimming & diving team with the prestigious Scholar All-America award for the Fall 2024 semester. This distinction highlights the team's commitment to academic excellence while representing UNC at the highest level in the pool.
The Scholar All-America award is presented to teams that achieve a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. Northern Colorado joins 780 other teams from 459 institutions in receiving this honor, with a total of 19,209 student-athletes recognized nationwide. Impressively, 654 of these teams recorded a GPA of 3.30 or higher, earning additional recognition in the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings.
"What a tremendous honor for our swim & dive team! I am so proud of how hard they work in the pool and in the classroom. I am excited to see how they perform in the WAC Championships later this month," said Director of Athletics Darren Dunn.
"The commitment to academic success from these teams is truly commendable," said CSCAA Executive Director Samantha Barany. "It is inspiring to see student-athletes thrive both in their sport and in their studies, and we take great pride in honoring their achievements."
