Wagner Doubles Twice in Series Finale

UNC suffered a 12-7 setback and settled for a split in the four-game series.
Wagner went 3-for-5, including a pair of doubles with two runs scored and drove in another.
Bullard tallied three knocks in five at-bats, with a run scored and an RBI.
Jake King tallied a pair of singles, while Carter Monda, Tony Castonguay, Anthony Stellato and Brandon Sanchez registered a single each.
Logan Moser worked 4.1 innings out of the bullpen, allowing four runs – two earned – on five hits and three hits while striking out four.
The Lobos pushed out to an 8-0 advantage, with three in the home half of the first and five more in the second.
Monda walked and scored on a double off the bat of Wagner in the third for the Bears first run. Wagner crossed the plate on a two-base error by New Mexico. King drove in Castonguay, slicing the gap to 8-3.
In the fourth, three consecutive singles with two outs trimmed the margin to four. Bullard's home run in the fifth – his first as a Bear - cut the deficit to 8-5.
The Lobos pushed the gap out to 12-5, with three runs in the sixth and a solo marker in the eighth.
Monda and Wagner led off the ninth with a walk and a double, putting two runners in scoring position. UNC tallied a pair of runs with a sacrifice fly and a ground out.
UNC continues the season-opening road trip Tuesday in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Bears and Air Force face off for the first of four meetings in 2025 Tuesday at 2 p.m.
