The Bobcats (7-2, 5-0 Big Sky) jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, posting touchdowns in each quarter to remain unbeaten in league play.
After trailing 34-0 at the half, the Bears (3-6, 1-4 Big Sky) got on the board in the fourth quarter with a sustained 13-play, 75-yard drive capped by a 1-yard touchdown run from Kieryus Boone. Kicker Jacob Willig added the extra point to make it 48-7 with 6:12 remaining.
Quarterback Eric Gibson completed 19 of 33 passes for 93 yards, while Brayden Munroe led the receiving corps with seven catches for 61 yards. Mathias Price paced the ground game with 54 yards on eight carries.
Quarterback Peter Costelli also made his first appearance since suffering an injury in the season opener, completing five of seven passes for 64 yards.
Defensively, sophomore safety Cam Chapa anchored the Bears with a team-high 11 tackles, including one for loss, and forced a fumble. Franky Morales added five tackles and one pass breakup, while Ezra Ekuban recorded a tackle for loss.
Northern Colorado will hit the road next Saturday to face No. 21/19 Northern Arizona in Flagstaff. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. MST.
