UNC Visits Idaho Thursday

UNC looks for its ninth-straight win, when the Bears take on Idaho at ICCU Arena Thursday.
The Bears enter with the eighth-longest active winning streak, behind Duke - 12, Michigan State 11, Auburn - 10, Houston - 10, Cleveland State – 10, Louisville – 9 and McNeese - 9.
The eight-game winning streak matches the longest in the program's NCAA DI Era and tied for the seventh-longest in school history.
In 124 seasons, the 1966-67 squad holds the record with 14 straight victories, while the 1925-26 team ran off 10 in succession.
Four teams won nine straight games (1932-33, 1940-41, 1948-49, and 1964-65.)
Along with this season's squad, the 1931-32 and 2002-2003 Bears defeated eight opponents.
The 6-0 start in Big Sky play is the second longest in school history to start league play, with the 2010-11 squad holding the record at 7-0.
UNC outshoots its opponents 55% to 44% in the 14 wins, including a 40%-32% from 3-point range.
The Bears outscored their opponents by 11.3 points over the first half in the 14 wins.
Northern Colorado shot over 50% from the field in 12 games, winning 11 of the games.
UNC shot below 40% from the floor in three games, dropping all three contests.
Former Vandal, Quinn Denker dropped 23 points, with seven rebounds and four assists against the Bears in Greeley Feb. 22, 2024. It is the first meeting against his former team.

SERIES HISTORY

UNC leads the all-time series 13-5, including 7-3 in Moscow, Idaho.
After dropping the first four games in the series, UNC won 11 straight before falling 84-82, in Lewiston, Idaho Feb. 16, 2023.
The Bears swept the two games last season, including an 89-68 triumph on the Vandals' home floor Jan. 27, 2024.

• Zach Bloch, Langston Reynolds, Egan Shields and Brock Wisne all attended Colorado Prep before joining the Bears. All four played valuable minutes, with Bloch, Reynolds and Wisne cracking the starting five, while Shields joined the lineup after redshirting last season.
