EUGENE, Ore. – Jerome Campbell placed seventh, with a 13.49 in the 110-meter Hurdles at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships Friday at Hayward Field.
"I am proud of Jerome for what he has overcome the last year," UNC Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Wayne Angel said. "He is a two-time First Team All-American and will continue to rewrite the history books at UNC. We now turn our attention and training program towards his goal of making the Jamaican Olympic Team."
Fifteen months after a season-ending injury derailed his rookie campaign, Campbell recorded the highest finish by a Bear at the outdoor championships in Northern Colorado's NCAA Division I era.
The season for Campbell continues June 27-30, at National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica, when he competes for a spot on the Jamaican Olympic Team.
