Bears Open Title Defense Thursday Against No. 5 Weber State

POCATELLO, Idaho – Inclement weather delayed the start of the 2024 Big Sky Championship Wednesday, pushing the start of action for Northern Colorado to 9 a.m. Thursday.
UNC, the defending champions and top seed after winning the regular season title takes on No. XXX, which defeated No. in the open round Wednesday.
The Bears won the three-game series two games to one at Portland State April 26-27. Idaho State defeated Weber State the next day, securing the program's first regular-season title since joining the conference before the 2013 campaign.
Northern Colorado placed six members of the squad across the All-Big Sky Conference First and Second Teams. League officials named Amailee Morales Big Sky Player of the Year and Erin Caviness Big Sky Pitcher of the Year Wednesday. Morales and Caviness became the first Bears to win either award,
The five other league head coaches unanimously selected UNC head coach Dedeann Pendleton-Helm the Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year, the Bears' second coach to win the award.
