SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Northern Colorado softball rallied in the seventh inning but fell short 4-2 in non-conference play from the Campus Diamond in the final game of the UC – Santa Barbara Softball Tournament.
The Red Storm scored two runs in the top of the first inning, and UNC scored in its part when junior Sabrina Javorsky drew a bases-loaded walk to score sophomore Amailee Morales from third base.
SJU added two more runs in its part of the seventh inning to extend the lead to 4-1.
Freshman Jazzy Longo drew a bases-loaded walk to bring the score to 4-2.
Junior Isabelle DiNapoli threw a complete game scattered eight hits and allowed four runs and one walk while striking out nine batters.

The Bears return to Greeley this weekend for its home opener in the Colorado Classic. The Bears play Manhattan College on Friday at 3 p.m., Iowa State on Saturday for a noon doubleheader, and Manhattan College again on Sunday for an 11 a.m. doubleheader.
