Meis averaged 6.7 yards per carry, with a long of 17 yards. Vann Schield netted 13 yards on three rushes, while Jordan Hornbeak tallied eight yards on four touches.
UNC (1-10, 1-6 Big Sky) received the opening kickoff and drove 71 yards in 12 plays – 11 on the ground – over 5:30. The drive ended with a 21-yard field goal by Keagan Zabilla, his first of the season. Northern Arizona scored 44 unanswered points.
Defensively, Franky Morales, Cam Chapa and Aliou-Rocco Traore paced the Bears with nine tackles each. Chapa registered an interception.
Ezra Ekuban tallied five tackles, including two sacks for 12 yards. KJ Smedley added seven tackles, including two TFLs.
Kia'i Keone completed seven of 14 passing attempts for 44 yards, with one interception. Jonah Chung totaled 13 yards on the lone throw. The duo completed a pass to 10 different receivers.
David Afari netted 30 yards on two receptions, while Brayden Munroe inked two catches for 16 yards.
