"I thought that we had a pretty good meet overall, in fact, it was better than I had anticipated since it was our first meet of the new year. Our performances from Regina and Jesse were outstanding, both broke school records in the 1000-meter run," said UNC head coach Wayne Angel. "I've been anticipating that Jerome would have a big breakthrough after his surgery and he did not let us down opening with a Big Sky leading 7.78 time in the 60-meter hurdles. Wendira and August raced very well in the 400 meters with Big Sky leading times as well. I was very pleased with Zach Wells time in the 800 meters he is finally figuring the race out. We exceeded our expectations today against an outstanding field of competitors".
The Bears enjoyed success down the road at the Potts Invitational in Boulder.
