Hunter Green converted a 31-yard field goal with 24 seconds remaining in the second quarter.
"Have to give credit to Abilene Christian. They were well coached and played well," said UNC head coach Ed Lamb. "We fell into an early 14-0 hole, and it was hard to recover from that. We competed the entire game and got better each quarter."
UNC football season and single-game tickets are on sale. The Bears play a challenging home schedule with five teams that qualified for the 2022 playoffs and host preseason top 10 Incarnate Word on September 9.
