MACOMB, Ill. – Western Illinois defeated Northern Colorado 5-4 in a close contest Saturday afternoon.
As a team, UNC recorded six hits and drew three walks.
Caden Wagner batted 1-for-4 with an RBI double.
Carson Gross and Garrett Fisher each finished 2-for-4. Jackson Romero went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Romero and Gross each recorded a solo home run.
Murphy Gienger started the was credited with the no decision. Gienger tossed five and two-third innings, and allowed eight hits, four runs (two earned), and four walks while fanning seven batters.
The two teams complete their series Sunday at noon.
