Big 12 Conference Pre-Seeds and Brackets Revealed

TULSA, Okla. – The Big 12 Conference announced its pre-seeds for the 2023 Big 12 Wrestling Championships, which is set to take place March 4-5 at the BOK Center.
No.1-ranked Andrew Alirez is the No. 1 seed at 141. The Greeley, Colorado native is enjoying a great junior season and sports a perfect 20-0 record.
At 125 freshman Stevo Poulin is the No. 4 seed. The Ballston Lake, New York product is 24-5 on the season.
Chris Sandoval, who is competing in his fifth Big 12 wrestling championships, is the No. 7 seed at 149. A Greeley, Colorado native and Windsor High School graduate, Sandoval is 14-8 on the year including 6-1 in his last seven times on the mat.
The Bears have two wrestlers that qualified as No. 8 seeds.
Jace Koelzer will wrestle at 133 and the Olathe, Kansas native is 19-9.
Baylor Fernandes will compete at 165 and the Lockport, Illinois native sports an 18-9 record.
UNC's non-seeded wrestlers are Vinny Zerban (157), Andrew Berreyesa (174), Franklin Cruz (184), Xavier Vasquez (197), and Xavier Doolin (285).
