LARAMIE, Wyo. – Xavier Doolin (285) defeated Taren Swartz at 2:28 by pinfall in the final of the dual to lift Northern Colorado past Wyoming 19-16 to claim the dual.

"Rivalry matches are tough," said UNC head wrestling coach Troy Nickerson. "I don't feel like we wrestled very well, however we were able to find a way to victory. Big wins by our upper-weights sealed the deal. We are excited to head home and regroup before we travel to Orem and a tough Utah Valley team."

No.1-ranked Andrew Alirez (141) improved to 18-0 on the season with a dominating 18-6 majority decision win over Job Greenwood.

Chris Sandoval (149) earned a hard-fought 4-3 decision and Andrew Berreyesa (174) was victorious by a 4-2 decision.

Xavier Vasquez (197) won a 3-2 decision over Tyce Raddon, which set up Doolin's heroics in the final match of the evening.
