Bears riding winning streak as they entertain Sac State on Saturday

Opening Tip
• The UNC men's basketball team is looking to finish out it's homestand with a third-consecutive win, as the Bears host Sacramento State this Saturday, Feb. 11, for a 6 p.m. tip at Bank of Colorado Arena.
vs Sacramento State
• The Bears are 21-9 in their Division I history against Portland State. UNC has won six of the last eight meetings with the Hornets. However, the last win for UNC in Greeley came on Jan. 16, 2020, when the Bears beat Sac State by a score of 71-52.
• Earlier this season, UNC dropped a 72-64 decision in Sacramento to the Hornets on Jan. 12. Freshman Brock Wisne put up a career-high 12 points, shotting 5-for-11 including hitting one three pointer in the loss. Matt Johnson II hit four three-pointers in the contest, scoring a total of 12 points.
Last Time Out
• Four Bears scored in double digits as UNC picked up it's second-consecutive win, defeating Portland State 88-79 on Thursday night. Daylen Kountz led the Bears with 22 points, and Dalton Knecht was a close second with 20 points. Daylen Kountz shot 61.5% from the field, hitting 8-of-13. Matt Johnson II and Theo Hughes scored in double digits, as Johnson put up 16, and Hughes had a career-best 11-point night. UNC was 35-for-60 (58.3%) on the night, and shot 18-for-28 (64.3%) in the second half. The Bears out-rebounded the Vikings 38-32.
Leading the Pack
• Senior guard Dalton Knecht has posted 13 games this season in which he has led the Bears in scoring.
• Through 24 games this season Knecht leads the Big Sky for scoring, averaging 19.9 points per game, which also ranks 25th in the nation. Knecht is third in the Big Sky for three-point percentage (39.9%).
Freshmen Bests
• Freshman Brock Wisne had a career-best night at Sacramento State (Jan. 12) putting up 12 points, shotting 5-for-11, including hitting one three pointer.
• Fellow freshman Langston Reynolds set career-highs in points (12), minutes played (17), field goals made (5), three-pointers made (2), and steals (1) in the loss to Montana State on Jan. 5.
