COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Northern Colorado track and field team competed at the UCCS Pre-Holiday Invitational, with Wendira Moss winning the 200-meter dash (24.57) and Moise Bennett taking the 60-meter hurdles (8.34).
"Overall, I was pleased with the team's performance and the kids competed very well. Wendira won the 200 meters in a very respectable early-season time and currently leads the Big Sky. Another outstanding performance came from Moise Bennet who won his first-ever Collegiate race in the 60-meter hurdles," said UNC head track and field coach Wendell Angel. "He is currently ranked number two behind his teammate Jerome Campbell. I was also pleased with performances from our distance runners Isaac Rascon and Zach Wells who had great races in the 3000-meter and mile run. We are very excited to begin the regular season in January. We're going to line up after some great training over the holiday break and hopefully show a lot of improvement at our next meet."
Wells finished fourth in the mile run with a time of 4:24.07, and Rascon placed seventh in the 3000-meter run with a converted time of 8:49.60.
The Bears are back in action on January 12 at the Clemson Invitational.
