Northern Colorado Nearly Defeats No. 4/5 Sacramento State

GREELEY, Colo. – For the second game in a row the University of Northern Colorado football team took a top-ranked Big Sky Conference team to the brink, narrowly falling to No. 4/No. 5 Sacramento State 21-13 Saturday afternoon.
The UNC defense forced a turnover on the opening driver when Franky Morales recovered a bad pitch and put the Bears in an early scoring position.
UNC turned the turnover into a 39-yard Hunter Green field goal and an early 3-0 lead.
The Hornets countered with a pair of touchdowns and led 14-3.
Wide receiver Brayden Munroe, a true freshman and Parker, Colorado native, found his way behind the Hornet's secondary and Jacob Sirmon found him for a 41-yard touchdown pass at 7:47 in the second quarter. It was Munroe's first career touchdown.
Green added his second field goal late in the fourth quarter.
