UNC Football returns home for Homecoming on Saturday
GREELEY, Colo. – Fresh off their first win of the season, Northern Colorado football returns home for Homecoming on Saturday. The Bears will host Idaho State for a 1 pm kickoff at Nottingham Field. Tickets for the game are available at UNCBears.com/Tickets and will air on ESPN+ along with over the air waves of 1310 KFKA and 103.1 FM.
The Game
The Bears come in with confidence after defeating Lamar 21-14 last weekend, while Idaho State looks to give first-year head coach Charlie Ragle his first win.
Gameday Happenings
It's Homecoming week for UNC. The anticipation for the game starts on Friday night at the annual Homecoming Bonfire and Pep Rally featuring Football Head Coach Ed McCaffrey, Volleyball Head Coach Lyndsey Oates and the Pride of the Rockies, Friday at 8 pm in the Bishop Lehr Parking Lot.
Get to the parking lots early on Saturday and tailgate with fellow Bears fans while enjoying the Pepsi Fan Fest starting three hours before kickoff. Featured at the Pepsi Fan Fest this week is a tethered hot air balloon ride thanks to Pepsi.
Pepsi is also the gameday sponsor providing fans thunder sticks and visors as they enter Nottingham Field.
As a part of Homecoming, Northern Colorado will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 1997 National Championship team.
Finally, fans can make it a full day with the Bears by cheering on the defending Big Sky Champions volleyball team as they take on Montana State at 7 pm. Fans who attend the game can get a special $5 ticket to the volleyball match.
About the Bengals
• Idaho State is under the lead of first-year head coach Charlie Ragle. Ragle came to ISU from Cal where he was the Special Teams Coordinator since 2017.
• The Bengals have had a challenging non-conference schedule dropping games to FBS UNLV and San Diego State along with Central Arkansas.
• Wide receiver Xavier Guillory has become a favorite of quarterback Hunter Hays. Guillory is averaging 85.7 yards per game to rank second in the Big Sky and 22nd nationally.
• Hunter Hays took over a QB1 after long-time quarterback Tyler Vander Waal was injured in the team's second game of the season.
• Opponents have been able to move the ball and score against the Bengals early this season. They are averaging 40.3 points and 486.0 yards a game.
What's Ahead
Northern Colorado makes its maiden voyage to Moscow, Idaho to face the Vandals. Kickoff inside the Kibby Dome is set for 7 pm MT.
UNC returns home on October 15 to host Montana State at 1 pm.
