Cromer snags four RBI, Wildcats steal final game of series in Manhattan

Following his first four-hit performance of his career, Shaydon Kubo went right to work in the top of the first, quickly earning a walk. After Josh Glenn took one for the team and Cade Moeller walked, all of the sudden, Lincoln Turner stepped to the plate with the bases loaded.
Turner, who dialed up a two-hit effort the night prior, promptly sent one into the opposite field in right, scoring Kubo to give the Bears the lead. One batter later, Chase Cromer singled up the middle, bringing home Glenn and Moeller and all of the sudden, UNC owned a 3-0 advantage.
Starting pitcher Jake King did well to keep the Wildcats at bay through the first two innings. The do-it-all southpaw struck out three and allowed just one run in those two frames.
Cromer was back in the third to issue Northern Colorado's response to a Kansas State run in the bottom end of the second. A fielder's choice was good enough to get Moeller home for the second time on the evening.
UNC saved its big inning for the top of the fourth. Three times the Bears loaded the bases. Glenn walked in a run, Moeller notched a sac-fly and Cromer stacked up his fourth RBI of the game with a walk. All of which added up to three runs in the inning and a five-run lead, 7-2.
The Wildcats rebounded with three runs in the fourth, one in the fifth, three in the sixth and an additional in the seventh to retake the lead from the Bears.
Glenn made it to third base in the eighth inning but was left 90-feet away before being able to score.
No comeback was in the cards for Northern Colorado this time as Kansas State took the win, 10-7.
